  1. Download & unzip

    Download NetDot 1.2.0 and open the ZIP file on your Mac.

  2. Move to Applications

    Drag NetDot into your Applications folder before opening it.

  3. Open NetDot

    Launch it from Applications. Find the dot in your menu bar, and enable Launch at Login if you’d like it there every day.

This release is not notarized by Apple. If macOS blocks it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway after trying to launch it. Only proceed if you trust this download.

What do the colors mean?

Green: a recent internet check passed. Yellow: checking, or response time is high. Red: no network, or both endpoints failed twice. Gray: automatic checks are paused.

Response time measures an HTTPS request, not download speed. A successful check cannot guarantee that every website or service is reachable.

Privacy & data use

No account, analytics, or browsing-history collection. Connection checks contact Google and Cloudflare over HTTPS; those services receive normal connection information such as your IP address. Traffic readings stay on your Mac and include local-network traffic.

The optional Cloudflare speed test transfers up to approximately 60 MB, plus protocol overhead. Closing its window cancels it. This website’s demo transfers no test data.

Uninstall & download verification

Turn off Launch at Login, quit NetDot, and remove the app from Applications. If needed, remove ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.rani.netdot.plist.
